How does paying off instalments work?

Clearpay will split the cost of your order into 4 instalments, due every two weeks. The exact date and amounts due will be displayed for you to agree before you place your order. If you choose to pay using Clearpay, please remember to spend responsibly – sometimes, delaying or splitting up payments might not always be the best option. We want you to shop with confidence, so we’ve provided all the info you need below.

    • You’ll be asked to pay the first of 4 instalments once you’re logged into the Clearpay Portal at checkout.
    • Instalments 2, 3 and 4 will automatically be collected from the debit or credit card you selected at checkout every 2 weeks.
    • You'll receive a reminder from Clearpay 2 days before each instalment is collected.
    • If you’d like to make payments before they are due, you can log into your Clearpay account to make your payments early. Clearpay will then adjust the amount owed.

What if I can't pay a Clearpay instalment?

If you can’t make a payment, please contact Clearpay here.

As soon as you miss a payment, Clearpay will immediately stop you from making any further purchases with Clearpay.

Clearpay will give you until 11pm on the following day to make your repayment and then you will incur a late fee if you are still not able to make the payment by then. This will be an initial £6 and a further fee of £6 if the missed payment is not made within 7 days. If your order is less than £24, the total late fee will be £6. If your order is £24 or over, total late fees will not exceed 25% of the total order or £24, whichever is less.

Clearpay debt may be passed to a debt collection agency and this may affect your ability to use Clearpay in future. We encourage you to use Clearpay responsibly. Please see Clearpay Terms of Service for further details.

    Having trouble paying with Clearpay?

If you have any trouble placing an order with Clearpay, it could be due to one of the following reasons:

    • Clearpay may have rejected your application to pay on account. We'd recommend choosing another type of payment or placing an order for a smaller amount.
    • Clearpay may not have been able to check your details using the billing address that you've provided. You'll need to make sure that your billing address is the same address that your bank/credit cards are registered to.
    • You may have outstanding payments on previous Clearpay statements. Once these are paid off, try Clearpay again.
    • If you've recently paid off outstanding statements, please allow 24 hours before trying to pay through Clearpay again.
    • You may have missed a required field at the checkout, such as filling in your Date of Birth. If you haven't used Clearpay before and you're shipping to a different address to your billing address, the payment may be declined.
